A Scout is Reverent
Reverent: Showing deep and solemn respect. To treat with high regard and veneration

Scouts know how to have fun and when to enjoy the beauty of the world around them, but they also realize there are times when sober reflection, solemnity and respect are most appropriate.

A Success Story: Collaboration Results in a Profitable Campaign
For decades, the Blackhawk Area Council, Boy Scouts of America and Girl Scouts of Northern Illinois had sought to demonstrate the value of character, courage, respect and responsibility among youth. Now, for both organizations, the Tumilowicz Center for Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts is a tangible example of what it means to work toward a common goal. Hartsook Merits Five Star Review from Scout Executive
"Working with Matt Beem and Hartsook was both an outstanding learning and personally rewarding experience. Having successfully raised more than our $5 million dollar goal, Matt coached and led us to success. His outstanding skills in donor fundraising along with his relationship skills and strong belief in the Scouting program served us very well. As an Eagle Scout, he served as an inspiration and expert to our council campaign leadership for our three-year effort. In conducting our campaign assessment, he was able to get to know our potential donors and develop a significant relationship with them. He is outstanding at closing six- and even seven-figure gifts. I would give him a 'Five Stars' review." - Stephen J. Gray, Scout Executive, Northern New Jersey Council
