Growing Philanthropy for Boy Scouts of America
Hartsook Companies, Inc. has a decades-long tradition of helping grow philanthropy for Boy Scouts of America (BSA) councils. Hartsook provides local councils with professional fundraising management and expertise. The Hartsook team helps improve councils' major gift prospect identification, qualification, cultivation and solicitation; grant research and proposal writing; campaign assessments; estate giving; annual fund planning and implementation; leadership development and more.

A Scout is Thrifty
Thrifty: Managing money and resources in a cautious and sensible way so as to waste as little as possible; thriving; growing vigorously.

Being thrifty does not mean doing without. It means making every decision count. Whether it is being intentional with finances or being a good steward of time and tangible possessions, being thrifty is about saying "no" when it is needful, in order to say "yes" when it is beneficial.

Hartsook Offers BSA Councils Professional, On-Site Resident Counsel
"Hartsook was engaged to assist our council in current and long-term fundraising. Ross Pfannenstiel was our Hartsook resident council. With his help, we were able to raise more money than we anticipated raising on our own for our Distinguished Citizen Award Dinner. He emphasized the importance of thinking long-term and did an excellent job of advising us regarding organizational changes we could make which, if implemented, could improve our fundraising efforts. One of the greatest contributions was in organizing our new development committees. Ross brought a sincere perspective as a former BSA council executive; a working knowledge of permissible BSA activities; and a positive attitude. Hartsook brings a culture change for most councils on development. The Hartsook team can act as the maestro, but it is still the local council that must actively participate in the fundraising process."
Dave Dennis, Board Member, Pine Burr Area Council
